When people think of females in the music industry they think of competition. New artists emerge all the time and the fight for music fans increases. For females to be working together on a tour in the hip-hop/R&B genre is really unheard of. Their male counterparts work on tours together all the time (Ludacris, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, etc).

Well, platinum artists and grammy winners Missy Elliot, Beyonce Knowles, and Alicia Keys have decided to launch a tour called Verizon Ladies First. Other artists, such as Tamia, (who has reached gold status), have signed on to be opening acts for the tour. The tour will end toward the end of April.
